Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Food Safety Specialist to join our team at EverStaff. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality in our clients' facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Food Safety Programs: Design, implement, and maintain food safety programs that meet regulatory standards, including HACCP, SSOP, and pest control.
  • Monitor and Maintain Quality Standards: Conduct regular inspections, monitor in-process and finished product testing, and ensure instrument calibration to maintain product quality.
  • Investigate and Resolve Customer Complaints: Investigate customer complaints, track and resolve issues, and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Develop and Maintain Standard Operating Procedures: Create, maintain, and audit standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure product quality and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Lead Audits and Inspections: Prepare for and lead efforts during third-party audits and inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Train and Educate Employees: Train employees on food safety, allergen control, food security, and quality standards to ensure a culture of compliance.
  • Communicate with Stakeholders: Communicate effectively with all departments to ensure smooth process operations and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Review and Implement Corrective Actions: Review quality processes and implement corrective actions for any identified non-conformances.
  • Ensure Compliance and Continuity: Assist in setting quality standards and ensuring production continuity and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • Education: Associate's degree or high school diploma.
  • Experience: 2+ years of experience in food safety or quality assurance/control within a food manufacturing or distribution environment.
  • Certifications: HACCP Certification.
  • Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, leadership skills, and knowledge of HACCP, food safety plans, and regulatory compliance (FDA, USDA).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Food Science or a related discipline.
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in food safety or quality assurance/control.
  • Skills: Knowledge of GMP, SQF programs, and SSOPs, experience interacting with regulatory compliance agencies, and strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to Stand for Extended Periods: Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Lifting and Physical Activities: Must be able to lift 5-50 pounds and perform physical activities such as bending, pulling, and reaching.
