Role Summary
The Recreation/Recreational Therapist will engage in professional activities focused on the assessment, planning, and execution of Therapeutic Recreation programs. The aim is to enhance, sustain, or restore functional abilities, mitigate disabilities, and assist patients in achieving their highest potential in leisure education, adaptive recreation, and recreational pursuits.

The therapist will initiate comprehensive assessments and formulate goal-oriented treatment plans tailored to each patient's unique needs and capabilities. Collaboration within an interdisciplinary team is essential to ensure the successful implementation of the recreational therapy care plan, which includes evaluating the patient's previous leisure lifestyle and establishing therapeutic goals that promote optimal functioning.

Additionally, the therapist may develop and facilitate diversionary activity programs as necessary, supporting patients' social integration throughout their rehabilitation journey.

Onboarding Requirements
Candidates must successfully complete a background check and a pre-employment health screening, which includes a drug test.

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor's Degree in Recreation Therapy, Therapeutic Recreation, Recreation Administration, or a related field.
  • Preferred: At least 1 year of experience as a Recreation Therapist.
  • Required: Certification eligibility by the Consortium for Therapeutic Recreation/Activity Certification (CTRS) or the National Council of Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC), or possession of a Master's Degree in a related discipline (e.g., Music Therapy, Art Therapy).
