We are currently seeking a part-time accounting intern to join our growing fintech company. This role has flexibility in working hours, with an expected range of 16 to 24 hours. The ideal candidate exhibits a base understanding of general accepted accounting principles, high moral character, and a growth mindset. This is an excellent opportunity for a student looking to balance work with other commitments while contributing to a dynamic and fast-paced environment, with potential for career advancement, based on performance and contributions to the company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process and record day-to-day cash, accounts receivable, and accounts payable financial transactions in the general ledger and subsidiary ledger.
  • Investigate and reconcile discrepancies in financial records, including receipts, returns, and other transactions.
  • Provide support to Senior Accountant and Controller in month-end closing procedures on the suite of companies within the Valmar ecosystem.
  • Assist with administrative tasks within the accounting department to support overall operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Outstanding written, verbal, and customer-facing communication skills.
  • Understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
  • Excels in a team environment, displaying the energy and ability to collaborate with colleagues to solve problems and achieve company-wide initiatives.
