Job Title: EHS Specialist

We are seeking an experienced EHS Specialist to join our team at Chipton Ross Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting a preventive safety culture, conducting job hazard analyses, and leading employee safety training programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement programs to prevent injuries and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct investigations and identify prevention methods for reported hazards, accidents, and near-miss incidents.
  • Lead the Employee Safety Training Program, including developing and delivering training curriculum and selecting and evaluating outside consultants/trainers.
  • Supervise the Safety Committee and Emergency Response Team (ERT) and coordinate site-wide drills to prepare the site for emergencies.
  • Manage programs to maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and codes, including ISO 14001 and radiation safety programs.
  • Coordinate applications for wastewater, hazardous waste, stormwater, and regulatory permitting.
  • Lead audits and manage root causes and corrective actions (RCCM).
  • Maintain and report safety metrics to leadership and conduct trend analyses to identify continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Support and update safety aspects of the Hillsboro Business Continuity Plan.

Requirements:

  • 4-6 years' experience as an EHS Manager in a large company with a history of leading and implementing site-wide programs.
  • EHS regulatory compliance experience and strong organizational skills to lead initiatives, drive projects, host successful audits, maintain government and ISO certifications.
  • Strong leadership skills and experience in collaborating with colleagues to foster continuous improvement.
  • Experience with ISO 14001 environmental management systems, auditing, and inspections.
  • In-depth knowledge of federal and local EHS regulations and requirements (i.e., Oregon OSHA, EPA, ISO 14001) and experience with interpreting and aligning requirements to site-specific programs.
  • Proficiency with computer applications, including MS Office 365, is required.

Education:

  • Accredited bachelor's degree in Safety, Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field is required. Equivalent experience will also be considered.
  • Candidates with experience in a manufacturing environment will be given preference. A master's degree is an added advantage.

Work Hours:

  • Full-Time; 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM M-F, OT possible.
