Position Overview:
The Heavy Equipment Technician plays a crucial role in the assessment, repair, refurbishment, and upkeep of diesel and heavy machinery, as necessary, while also executing administrative duties associated with maintenance protocols.

Qualifications:
- A minimum of four (4) years of hands-on experience with diesel engines and heavy machinery (such as forklifts, terminal tractors, automobiles, and top loaders).
- Proficient in hydraulic systems, diesel engine repairs, as well as pneumatic and electrical systems.
- Capability to interpret hydraulic and electrical schematic diagrams.
- Possession of tools essential for equipment maintenance and repair.
- A clean driving record and reliable transportation to and from the workplace.
- Strong communication skills in English; proficiency in Spanish is advantageous.
- A collaborative mindset and willingness to work within a team.
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
- Must hold a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential).
- Willingness to travel as required.

Key Responsibilities:
- Adhere to General Safety Regulations.
- Conduct diagnostics, repairs, and reconditioning of heavy machinery systems and components as necessary.
- Execute scheduled maintenance and inspections.
- Operate and test repaired machinery to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Complete comprehensive documentation on all reports and forms as mandated by work assignments.
- Undertake additional responsibilities as directed by the immediate supervisor in a professional and efficient manner.
- Actively seek and engage in relevant training opportunities.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Work is conducted entirely outdoors.
- Candidates will encounter various weather conditions, including heat, rain, and cold, on a daily basis, and may occasionally work in confined spaces (such as warehouses or vessel hatches).
- Must be capable of walking, bending, stooping, and climbing ladders up to 100 feet high, with quick physical reactions (such as jumping or moving).
- Ability to function in a noisy environment.
- Flexibility to work varied schedules, including extended hours, holidays, and weekends as needed.
