The compensation for this role is commensurate with experience and location, ranging from $128,833 to $161,042.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education & Experience Required:
Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 10 years' relevant experience in customer service, operations, and government or community relations. A Master's Degree is preferred. Proven experience engaging with government, business, and community leaders is essential. At least 5 years of management or supervisory experience is required, with a track record of progressively challenging roles.

Skills/Abilities:
Exceptional organizational, communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills are necessary. A keen attention to detail and strong follow-up abilities are critical. High emotional intelligence and relationship-building skills are essential. The candidate must be a highly resourceful team player, capable of working effectively both independently and collaboratively. The ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results is crucial. Candidates should possess the fortitude to adapt to shifting priorities and timelines, demonstrating prompt and professional reactions to project adjustments. Strong problem-solving skills are required, along with flexibility during periods of significant change. The ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a dynamic, high-pressure environment is essential. A collaborative team player who exercises sound judgment in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful setting is desired. Experience in a utility environment with knowledge of rates, tariffs, and gas and electric distribution systems is preferred. Willingness to travel is a must.

Scope of Work:
This role reports to the Director of Municipal, Community & Business Relations and serves as a trusted resource for Iberdrola's operations. The ability to lead a team in a fast-paced environment while maintaining flexibility, resourcefulness, and professionalism is vital. Business acumen, expert-level written and verbal communication skills, strong decision-making capabilities, and meticulous attention to detail are critical for success in this position. Leadership skills and the ability to balance internal and external priorities are paramount.

MAJOR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Oversee the daily operations of a team of Municipal & Community Relations Managers and Business Relations Managers to ensure effective achievement of departmental responsibilities.
  • Assist in the development and execution of strategic plans for municipal, community, and business relations that align with company objectives.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership and other subject matter experts within the Iberdrola organization to ensure a coordinated approach across all stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements applicable to this group.
  • Support the development of corporate contributions and sponsorship programs in collaboration with the Iberdrola Foundation to maximize outreach efforts.
  • Ensure the team effectively executes the annual program plan.
  • Promote Iberdrola's volunteer initiatives through the development and implementation of programs that enhance employee engagement in community support.
  • Manage the organization of company-sponsored volunteer events to achieve Iberdrola's volunteer goals.
  • Serve in a leadership capacity on the Public Liaison Officer (PLO) team to support emergency response efforts.
  • Provide input to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the PLO team.
  • Develop and implement innovative strategies to meet company targets.
  • Ensure collaboration with business areas to promote programs and initiatives.
  • Coach and develop team members to enhance their skills and effectiveness.
  • Hold team members accountable for achieving business and individual goals through performance management and regular feedback.
  • Identify and recommend actions to improve efficiency and support the implementation of approved initiatives.
