We are seeking a skilled and experienced Veterinary Technician to join our per diem team at Ethos Veterinary Health. As a per diem technician, you will have the flexibility to choose your schedule and work on a part-time basis, covering shifts above and beyond our full-time staff members.
Key Responsibilities- Triage incoming patients and manage clients throughout their visit
- Partner with veterinarians in patient assessment, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures
- Obtain and process laboratory samples, including blood, urine, free fluid, and fine needle aspirates
- Utilize various imaging modalities for patient assessment
- Manage treatments for hospitalized patients on an hourly basis
- Execute, monitor, and recover assigned sedation and anesthetic events
- Perform phlebotomy and IV catheter placement in canine and feline patients
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to prioritize and adapt to a fast-paced, fluid environment
- Good overall knowledge of disease processes, medical math, anesthesia, and pharmacology
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in a progressive veterinary hospital setting, with at least 1 year of specialty/ECC experience preferred
- Current CA RVT license or VACSP required
- Ability to work a minimum of 20 hours per month
- Availability to work at least 1-2 holidays or company events per year
