Overview of the Role
Reporting to the Director of Regulatory Compliance, the Compliance and Quality Assurance Specialist plays a crucial role in the development and execution of the organization's regulatory compliance strategies aligned with quality and safety objectives.


This position involves assisting in the design, planning, organization, coordination, and evaluation of efforts aimed at achieving regulatory compliance and enhancing clinical quality. The Specialist will identify and promote best practices that prioritize quality care and patient safety.

Key Responsibilities
• Foster a culture of safety where clinical quality and patient safety initiatives are integrated with evidence-based best practices and principles of High Reliability Organizations (HRO).
• Support the Director of Regulatory Compliance in the creation, implementation, and assessment of regulatory programs that meet both internal and external requirements.
• Aid in the preparation for regulatory surveys, actively participating during the surveys, and assisting in the formulation of action plans and follow-up audits.
• Organize and manage meetings and activities for the Accreditation and Regulatory Readiness Committees.

Regulatory Resources Management
• Ensure that regulatory resources are current, including software programs and standards related to accreditation and compliance.

Special Projects
• Facilitate, develop, and implement special projects as assigned by leadership.

Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in nursing, healthcare administration, or a related field is required; a Master's degree is preferred.
Experience: 3-4 years of experience with accreditation and regulatory standards, including familiarity with the survey process and corrective action plans. Knowledge of the regulatory landscape, including The Joint Commission and CMS, is essential.
Licenses and Certifications: CPHQ - Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality is preferred; RN licensure is also preferred.

Skills and Abilities
• Comprehensive understanding of current trends and best practices in quality, regulatory compliance, performance improvement, and patient safety.
• Proven ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with healthcare professionals.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
