MDS Staffing is seeking a highly skilled Traffic Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our transportation team, you will play a crucial role in the successful completion of transportation projects, ensuring they are safe, efficient, and cost-effective.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in traffic operations and modeling, safety analysis, multi-modal planning and implementation, signing and striping plans, signal and lighting design, temporary traffic control plans, and other related tasks.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct traffic analysis and modeling to inform project decisions
  • Design and develop traffic plans to optimize traffic flow and safety
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to communicate project plans and progress
  • Stay up-to-date with applicable laws, regulations, and standards related to traffic engineering
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
  • Strong technical, communication, and leadership skills
  • Ability to problem-solve and think critically
  • Experience with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD
  • Proficiency in traffic analysis and design software
  • Proficient in Microsoft software (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
  • Progressive traffic engineering related experience
  • B.S. in Civil Engineering (or related field) with Professional Engineer licensure (PE) in Minnesota
  • Certification as a Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE)
  • Knowledge of CADD software, preferably MicroStation
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills
  • Experience supervising staff
