Job Title: Treatment Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Treatment Specialist to join our team at Management & Training Corporation (MTC). As a Treatment Specialist, you will play a critical role in providing education and life skills classes to offenders, guiding them towards a healthy and productive life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement didactic sessions according to designated curricula within the program.
  • Maintain a Therapeutic Community (TC) within the facility, working closely with correctional staff to create a living environment that is peer-driven.
  • Guide and assist offenders in complying with facility rules and regulations, supervising offender work functions in accordance with program policies.
  • Monitor offender behavior and report incidents, inappropriate or unusual behaviors to appropriate treatment team staff.
  • Compile data and submit reports and related documentation as appropriate.
  • Assist with development of an Individual Progress Summary for each offender.

Requirements:

  • Graduation from an accredited senior high school or equivalent (GED).
  • Associate's degree in the field of psychology, sociology, counseling, social work, criminal justice, education, nursing, or health is preferred; related experience is a plus.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite or equivalent word processing, spreadsheet, database, or presentation software programs preferred.
  • A valid driver's license in the state of Texas with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.
  • Must successfully complete the following training programs: TDCJ Approved Correctional Awareness Training (CAT), Training for Trainers (T4T), and Cognitive Intervention Programming (CIP).
  • Within 180 days of employment, must have a letter of registration as a Cl from the Texas Department of State Health Services or certification as a CCJP-A as approved by the Texas Certification Board of Addiction Professionals.
  • Must successfully complete annual in-service training requirements and pass an annual background check, both of which must be approved by the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ).
