We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team at St. Luke's Health System. As a key member of our Supply Chain department, you will be responsible for purchasing and negotiating materials, equipment, and supplies from assigned suppliers.
Key Responsibilities- Support strategic sourcing execution with timely and accurate purchase order processing and follow-up of orders for materials, services, and capital.
- Create customized purchase orders in partnership with various stakeholders across the health system.
- Analyze and optimize purchase orders across a spend category.
- Perform professional work with knowledge and experience in own discipline, acquiring higher-level knowledge and skills.
- Build knowledge of the organization, processes, and customers to solve a range of straightforward problems.
- Under the direction of the sourcing manager, source alternative commodities from suppliers at the lowest cost consistent with considerations of quality, reliability of supplier, and urgency of need.
- Support stakeholder management and business needs analysis with a clear understanding of stakeholder working environment and establishing and maintaining positive and professional internal customer relationships.
- Demonstrate an intermediate understanding of supplier capabilities, commercial agreements, and principles of Supplier Relationship Management (SRM).
- Maintain purchase documentation and ensure purchase order data integrity for audit purposes.
- Provide research information on root cause errors to support avoiding future discrepancies.
- Resolve discrepant invoices and perform critical tasks in multiple ERP systems.
- Work with SLHS finance teams and other stakeholders at the hospitals to resolve procurement issues with normal and specialized orders.
- Support the collaborative relationship with Sourcing, Contracting, and other Supply Chain departments as needed.
- Identify and communicate product/equipment standardization and cost savings.
- Manage and report out on one or more strategic purchasing metrics.
- Bachelor's degree or experience in lieu of degree.
- 2 years relevant experience.
