Job Description

At LinkedIn, we're committed to helping our employees find passion and purpose in their work. As a critical leadership position within our engineering organization, the Director of Capacity and Efficiency Engineering will play a key role in driving our company's success.

This role is responsible for comprehensively understanding the end-to-end capacity needs of our ecosystem, ensuring efficiency through the application of industry best practices. The director will collaborate closely with engineering teams to develop both long-term and annual forecasts, providing clear predictability for finance and supply chain planning. Additionally, this role will establish transparent cost accounting for each application up to each business unit, enabling informed and strategic business decisions.

Responsibilities:
• Collaborate across the rest of engineering leadership and infrastructure leadership to drive high availability of the wider site capacity and forecasting needs and drive a culture of efficiency for LinkedIn's overall ecosystem.
• Be a role model and professional coach for engineers and managers, helping them realize their potential by setting clear expectations, openly evaluating performance, upholding accountability, and providing challenges to stretch their skills.
• Participate with senior management in co-developing a long-term product reliability and technology road map.
• Drive and own improvements in end-to-end infrastructure and systems.
• Be the domain expert who follows industry trends and applies best practices.
• Contribute to the hiring and development of talented leaders and engineers ranging from junior to senior levels of experience.
• Build effective partnerships with the development, infrastructure, and product teams.
• Lead cross-organizational projects to ensure teams deliver on time and at a high-quality bar, by proactively aligning resources and processes, mitigating risks, and making tradeoffs by taking intelligent risks.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related domain.
• 5+ years managing teams of 40+ engineers.

What You'll Get:
We strongly believe in the well-being of our employees and their families. That is why we offer generous health and wellness programs and time away for employees of all levels. LinkedIn is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The pay range for this role is $218,000 to $357,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location.
