We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team at MML US, Inc. in San Diego, CA.
Job Summary:The Electrical Engineer will provide technical expertise and guidance to support the design, development, and launch of new and existing medical devices. This includes developing innovative solutions, conducting risk assessments, and coordinating verification and validation activities to ensure safe and effective products.
Key Responsibilities:- Apply engineering knowledge and industry expertise to assist in developing strategic plans for product development and enhancements.
- Lead electrical and electromechanical design initiatives, identifying customer requirements, researching and testing manufacturing and assembly methods, and soliciting feedback from operators to ensure products meet quality and business requirements.
- Develop and manage project schedules, establishing required deliverables, identifying resource requirements, and providing direction to team members.
- Define new and existing design requirements and develop specifications in accordance with manufacturing, marketing, and customer expectations.
- Direct and/or participate in risk management activities, developing test methods, verification/validation activities, and documenting outcomes associated with product development.
- Prepare technical product reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Identify and analyze design problems to formulate optimal solutions that satisfy cost and technical requirements.
- Communicate key information and recommendations to influence technical decisions and strategy.
- Generate and leverage existing and new intellectual property for new therapy and/or clinical use.
- Engage in personal and continuing professional development to broaden knowledge and expertise.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering and a minimum of 2 years related experience, or an advanced degree without experience, or equivalent work experience (medical device strongly preferred).
- Design, time management, technical writing, basic regulatory, basic quality, creative problem solving, medical device development, and proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office products).
- Practical experience working in highly regulated industries (21 CFR Part 820 and/or ISO 13485 preferred).
- Experience with medical devices (active implantables preferred).
- Automated Test Engineering experience preferred.
A competitive salary range of $76,000 to $110,000/year, plus a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, financial, and other benefits, as well as equity. MML US, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer and participates in E-Verify.
