We are currently seeking a skilled Behavioral Health Intake Coordinator to manage the entire intake process for individuals seeking EMC services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluates and determines patient eligibility for third-party reimbursement programs.
  • Efficiently processes patient data for seamless admission into health services.
  • Professionally addresses inquiries from prospective patients.

Eligibility Assessments and Client Recruitment:

  • Diligently conducts eligibility assessments for clients, adhering to program-specific processes and guidelines.
  • Actively participates in client recruitment and community education initiatives, promoting awareness of services, programs, and eligibility criteria.
  • Proficiently identifies client payer sources, including Medicaid, Medicare, and other third-party insurance providers.

Client Information and Records Management:

  • Accurately completes necessary paperwork and meticulously enters eligible client data into electronic systems.
  • Maintains comprehensive and well-organized eligibility files.
  • Conducts timely eligibility renewals, adhering to program requirements.

Client Onboarding and Appointments:

  • Confirms eligibility appointments with clients and schedules appointments with potential clients.
  • Efficiently schedules initial service appointments upon determination of eligibility.
  • Provides clients with clear instructions and lists of required eligibility documentation.

Collaboration with Administration:

  • Works collaboratively with administration to ensure accurate and comprehensive collection of data for financial, operational, compliance, and quality reporting purposes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum [1-2] years of experience working as an Intake Specialist or similar role within behavioral health, mental health, or healthcare-related field.
  • Knowledge of medical and insurance terminology, including Medicaid, Medicare, and other third-party insurance carriers.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, ability to build positive relationships.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Experience in industries working with specific populations, preferred (e.g., children, adolescents, veterans, elderly).
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish, preferred.
  • Reliable transportation to work onsite at our corporate office in Northwest Houston.

Compensation: $15-20/hour DOE
