Additionally, the venue host is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the establishment, managing waste disposal, assisting with the setup and breakdown of events, and supporting performers during their load-ins and loadouts as directed by management.
As the first point of contact for guests, our venue hosts must greet visitors warmly and handle inquiries or concerns regarding guest behavior. Therefore, it is essential for venue hosts to maintain a friendly, professional demeanor while ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all.
VENUE HOST KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
General Responsibilities
- Control access to the venue by verifying guest identifications and ensuring adherence to the company dress code and conduct policies in a courteous manner.
- Observe and manage guest behavior to prevent issues such as excessive alcohol consumption or disruptive conduct.
- Act decisively in situations involving unruly guests to safeguard the well-being of all patrons and staff, including the removal of problematic individuals from the venue.
- Maintain a positive and energetic atmosphere throughout the shift.
- Demonstrate strong communication skills to engage with guests, respond to inquiries, and address concerns in a friendly and professional manner.
- Exhibit reliability, punctuality, and trustworthiness in all duties.
- Welcome guests warmly upon arrival and bid them farewell upon departure, ensuring a sincere and assertive greeting.
- Clear empty glassware and debris from tables and surfaces to uphold cleanliness and organization within the venue.
- Monitor restroom supplies and cleanliness to ensure a pleasant experience for guests when attendants are unavailable.
- Maintain a professional appearance and conduct duties with integrity.
- Complete assigned cleaning tasks efficiently, including stocking and organizing supplies.
- Set up and dismantle workstations before and after operational hours.
- Familiarity with teamwork and point-of-sale systems.
- Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English to interact effectively with guests and colleagues.
- Strong verbal communication abilities.
- Capability to perform under pressure and manage stressful situations in a lively and crowded environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to ensure guest satisfaction and manage behavior effectively.
- Basic knowledge of food handling standards.
- Fundamental mathematical skills.
- Awareness of all necessary legal documentation, including A.B.C. regulations and health department requirements.
Education
A high school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
Experience
A minimum of two years' experience in a high-energy restaurant or bar setting is required.
Age Requirement
Must be at least 21 years old to comply with state regulations for serving alcoholic beverages.
Licenses or Certifications
A valid Guard Card or PPSO License is necessary. CPR certification and/or First Aid training is preferred.
Physical Requirements
Venue hosts should maintain good physical fitness due to the demands of the role. There are no specific height or weight restrictions.
GROOMING STANDARDS
All employees are required to wear the designated uniform and uphold a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance in line with company grooming policies. This policy is implemented in accordance with the company's obligations to accommodate religious beliefs, medical conditions, and disabilities.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Ability to navigate quickly through crowded areas to address guest situations safely.
- Assess guest intoxication levels based on appearance, speech, and behavior.
- Verify the authenticity of identification documents.
- Manage high-pressure situations and handle difficult guests professionally.
- Communicate effectively with guests and team members.
- Address verbal and physical altercations with professionalism and control.
- Take appropriate action to manage guests exhibiting violent behavior to prevent harm to others.
- Work late hours, including weekends and holidays, as required.
- Lift heavy items, such as full trash bins (approximately 100 lbs.).
- Adapt to working in environments with elevated temperatures.

COMPENSATION: $16.85-$18.00/hour PLUS TIPS
