Additionally, Delta Star provides extensive engineering, testing, maintenance services, and parts for any transformer manufacturer through our Field Service unit, ensuring optimal performance of our customers' transformers and mobile units.

Objective

To deliver Quality Engineering support for the manufacturing of transformers and mobile substations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and advocate for technical problem-solving initiatives and continuous improvement efforts to guarantee complete customer satisfaction for medium power transformers and mobile substations.
  • Act as the primary technical resource for the Quality Assurance team.
Specific Duties
  • Assist the manufacturing team as required.
  • Facilitate collaboration among staff from various disciplines and locations to develop and agree on quality management system documentation.
  • Serve as a lead auditor - prepare, conduct, report, and follow up on internal system and process audits.
  • Perform random audits as necessary based on individual process performance and product quality.
  • Influence process owners and collaborate on effective solutions.
  • Enhance the detection of non-conformances through the implementation of quality tools (Control Plans, Process Mapping, C&E Matrices, FMEA, MSA, Design of Experiments).
  • Engage with all disciplines to document, assign, and resolve product non-conformities.
  • Establish metrics as needed to evaluate process performance.
  • Utilize metrics, findings, and observations to assist the Quality Supervisor in prioritizing and planning audit strategies and identifying educational needs for peer departments.
  • Support the QA team with Quality Management System activities/changes, corrective/preventive actions (including suppliers), and hosting auditors and customers.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
  • Three (3) to six (6) years of relevant experience required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • A proactive leader capable of analyzing technical product features and fostering a collaborative team environment conducive to problem-solving.
  • Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical engineering fundamentals is essential.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015, internal auditing, manufacturing processes, statistics, and continuous improvement methodologies is required.
  • Ability to teach, produce concise detailed reports, and implement metrics to assess process performance.
Travel Requirements
  • Travel as necessary to engage with customers, suppliers, and sister plants.
