Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Provide outstanding customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and resolving concerns in a prompt and professional manner.
  • Meat Department Operations: Oversee the daily activities of the meat department, including receiving and stocking merchandise, maintaining a clean and organized store environment, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Sales and Merchandising: Coordinate sales and merchandising plans to ensure proper stock levels and freshness, and monitor competitor activity to stay ahead of the competition.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee department inventories, track weekly sales reports, and manage product orders and supplies to ensure successful period-end physical inventory.
  • Team Management: Supervise associates within the department, participate in training, and delegate work assignments to effectively utilize talents and abilities while maximizing profits for the department.
  • Expense Control: Control department expenses by improving operations and efficiencies, controlling labor costs, and reducing losses due to damages, spoiled product, and shrink.
Requirements
  • Education: High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required; Associate or bachelor's degree in business-related or food service-related field desirable.
  • Experience: Minimum (2) years' experience in management in a retail/restaurant/supermarket environment; Meat management experience preferred.
  • Skills: Excellent customer service skills, strong leadership and communication skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and proficiency in inventory management and sales tracking.
