About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Technician to join our team at Texoma Medical Center. As a Mental Health Technician, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality care to our patients.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct visual observations of patients and monitor vital signs to ensure patient safety
  • Perform and document searches and belongings inventories according to policy
  • Conduct educational group therapy sessions with the supervision of a counselor or registered nurse
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care to patients
Requirements
  • Reading and numerical competency
  • 2-year college degree in Behavioral Science or Nursing, or Emergency Medical Technician certification
  • Prefer 1 year of experience in a JCAHO-accredited hospital on a psychiatric or chemical dependency unit
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) Healthcare Provider course completion during new hire orientation
  • Ability to identify and address the special needs of adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
