Mental Health Technician

As a Mental Health Technician at Universal Health Services, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of patients on our psychiatric unit. Your responsibilities will include conducting visual observations of patients, monitoring vital signs, and reporting any abnormalities to the nursing staff. You will also be responsible for performing and documenting searches and belongings inventories, as well as conducting educational group therapy sessions under the supervision of a counselor or registered nurse.

- Perform and document searches and belongings inventories
- Conduct educational group therapy sessions under the supervision of a counselor or registered nurse
- Reading and numerical competency
- 2-year college degree in Behavioral Science or Nursing, or Emergency Medical Technician certification
- 1 year of experience in a JCAHO-accredited hospital on a psychiatric or chemical dependency unit
- BLS (Basic Life Support) Healthcare Provider certification
- Ability to identify and address the special needs of adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
- Ability to work as a member of an interdisciplinary team
