Overview

This position is classified as hybrid, requiring some in-office presence at our corporate headquarters.

The role encompasses a variety of responsibilities that support both domestic and international standby and commercial letter of credit processing. Key tasks include managing letter of credit issuance, advising, document examination, maintenance, billing, and reporting. You will collaborate with commercial lenders, legal teams, loan operations, and customers to ensure timely completion of transactions. Your efforts will assist management in maintaining efficient operations while upholding exceptional customer service standards.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily system operations, ensuring successful end-of-day batch file delivery. Initiate letters of credit by accurately verifying all information in related loan documents in compliance with legal and lending standards. Address any deficiencies with management as necessary. Engage with internal and external clients to clarify details and confirm letter of credit language. Input data for letter of credit activities into the system of record. Prepare monthly reports on outstanding letters of credit, delinquent accounts, and other management-directed reports. Support daily reconciliations of general ledger accounts. Assist in the billing process for letters of credit and related management reporting systems. Monitor accounts receivable and update delinquency reports. Maintain records for letter of credit inventory and manage necessary reports. Adhere to compliance procedures related to bank secrecy act programs. Develop familiarity with industry standards for letters of credit.
  • Review and manage documentation in line with commercial and standby letter of credit terms and conditions. Scrutinize all shipping documents against letter of credit requirements. Document and escalate any discrepancies to management. Coordinate with customers to resolve issues as directed, ensuring departmental compliance. Initiate specific messages to foreign banks as required. Cultivate an understanding of department-specific communications and the global correspondent banking network.


Qualifications

Education

Associate Degree or equivalent experience preferred, with a focus on relevant fields related to this role.

High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

Experience

A minimum of 2 years in business and banking is required.

Familiarity with articles and documents related to standby letters of credit is preferred but not mandatory.

Other Duties as Assigned by Manager

This position may involve additional responsibilities as assigned by management. All employees are expected to understand and comply with company-assigned compliance programs, regulations, and policies, ensuring completion of all compliance training by set deadlines. This includes recognizing compliance risks within their departments and escalating these risks appropriately.

Pay Transparency

Salary ranges are established based on the position, function, and responsibilities, benchmarked against similar companies in our industry. Compensation will be determined based on a combination of factors including the candidate's expertise, skills, work experience, and relevant credentials. Geographic location may also influence the salary range.

The hourly rate for this position is $27.16.
