Overview
This role is a hybrid position requiring in-office presence at our corporate headquarters.
The position entails various responsibilities supporting the department, including both domestic and international standby and commercial letter of credit processing. Key tasks involve the issuance, advising, document examination, maintenance, billing, and reporting of letters of credit. As needed, the role will coordinate transactions with commercial lenders, legal teams, loan operations, and directly with clients to meet deadlines. The position assists management in ensuring efficient and precise operations while upholding high standards of customer service.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily system operations, ensuring successful end-of-day batch file delivery. Initiate letters of credit by thoroughly verifying all information in related loan documents, adhering to all legal and lending compliance standards. Address deficiencies with management as necessary. Engage with internal and external clients to clarify information and confirm letter of credit language. Input data related to letter of credit activities into the record system. Aid in generating monthly reports on outstanding letters of credit, overdue accounts receivable, and other directed reports. Support the daily reconciliation of essential general ledger accounts. Assist with the billing process for letters of credit and related management reporting systems. Track accounts receivable and update delinquency reports. Maintain records for letter of credit inventory and manage the access database along with necessary reports. Follow established procedures to ensure compliance with all relevant programs.
- Review and uphold documentation according to commercial and standby letter of credit terms and conditions. Diligently examine all shipping documents against letter of credit requirements. Document and escalate any discrepancies to management. Facilitate resolution with clients as directed to ensure departmental compliance. Initiate department-specific communications to foreign banks as required. Develop an understanding of department-specific communications and the global correspondent banking network.
Qualifications
Education
Associate Degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field is preferred.
High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
Experience
A minimum of 2 years of business and banking experience is required.
Familiarity with articles and documents related to standby letters of credit is preferred but not mandatory.
Other Duties as Assigned by Manager
This role may involve additional responsibilities as assigned by management. Every employee is accountable for understanding and acting upon the contents of all company-assigned compliance programs, regulations, and policies, ensuring completion of all compliance training assignments by established deadlines. This includes identifying compliance risks affecting their department and escalating these risks to the appropriate management level.

We establish standard salary ranges based on the position, function, and responsibilities, benchmarked against similar companies in our industry. Specific compensation will be determined based on a combination of factors including the candidate's knowledge, skills, work experience, and relevant credentials. Salary ranges may vary based on geographic location.
The hourly rate for this position is $27.16.
