Express is on the lookout for a Retail Operations Leader.


This role is pivotal in steering all facets of customer engagement and store management while identifying, nurturing, and leading talent within the store team.

Key Responsibilities

Talent Development
- Attract, cultivate, and retain top-tier talent.
- Foster an environment that promotes high morale among store associates.
- Encourage teamwork and a unified approach among all store staff.
- Coach, mentor, and manage performance and development for all team members to promote professional growth and build a strong talent pipeline.
- Create succession plans for all positions.
- Identify and support the advancement of high-performing associates.
- Maximize the potential of store associates to enhance sales and customer experience.
- Oversee the recruitment and hiring of all store personnel.

Customer and Associate Experience
- Cultivate a store atmosphere that consistently delivers outstanding customer experiences.
- Lead by example, teaching and coaching for a strong focus on customer engagement aligned with our Customer Experience Philosophy.
- Establish a culture of proactive customer interaction.
- Demonstrate expert knowledge of products, company policies, promotions, and loyalty programs, leading the team in these areas.
- Provide guidance during product launches, visual merchandising, and promotional activities.
- Address customer concerns effectively, identifying issues and implementing solutions.
- Drive loyalty program participation through an engaged team.
- Ensure a positive in-store environment through adherence to visual standards.

Operational Execution
- Analyze business performance and communicate clear action plans to optimize results.
- Manage all daily store operations.
- Ensure all associates understand goals and action plans.
- Develop clear strategies that enhance performance.
- Direct workloads and ensure the execution of plans across the store.
- Uphold company policies and ensure the safety of associates and customers.
- Oversee merchandise flow, including shipments and replenishment.
- Optimize sales opportunities by leading associates in executing merchandising strategies and company initiatives.
- Ensure effective scheduling of associates to meet operational needs.
- Manage expenses and uphold loss prevention and safety standards.

Essential Qualifications
- Three to five years of prior experience in store management, with responsibility for significant annual sales volume.
- Proven track record of increasing sales and profitability.
- Demonstrated ability to network, recruit, train, and develop associates.
- Willingness to travel as necessary for meetings.
- Physical capability to lift medium to large items weighing up to 50 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in retail is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills with customers, peers, and supervisors.
- Proven accountability in sales performance.
- Collaborative and respectful team player.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and customers simultaneously.

Salary Range
$58,000 - $87,000
