As a Registered Radiology Technologist, your primary responsibility will be to conduct radiology examinations and fluoroscopic procedures for patients across all age groups. Ensuring patient safety is of utmost importance in this role.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Registered Technologist credentials from The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists R.T.(R) (ARRT) in good standing.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Strong understanding of anatomy and pathological processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducts general radiology, portable, and fluoroscopic procedures, including GIs, GUs, pediatrics, and arthrograms.
  • Produces high-quality images for accurate interpretation without delay.
  • Maintains thorough documentation to ensure timely and accurate entry of technical data.
  • Reports equipment malfunctions to management and takes appropriate corrective actions.
  • Educates patients about procedures and equipment to ensure understanding and cooperation.
  • Ensures patient comfort and safety throughout the examination process.
  • Assists in scheduling patient procedures and prioritizing patient needs.
  • Demonstrates proper care and operation of radiology equipment in accordance with technical specifications.
  • Supports Radiologists during fluoroscopic, GU, GI, and pediatric procedures.
  • Manages the acquisition, archiving, transmission, and printing of images via PACS.
  • Handles after-hours transmission of images and necessary documentation.
  • Reports any equipment issues to the help desk and PACS Administrator promptly.
  • Processes billing through RIS.
  • Provides training and mentorship to new hires and Radiology students.
  • Engages in ongoing professional development through in-service programs and professional affiliations.
  • May rotate through various diagnostic imaging modalities and locations as needed.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.

Certifications Required:

  • Registered Technologist credentials from The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists R.T.(R) (ARRT) in good standing.
  • Current state licensure required prior to employment.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory.

Complexity of Work:

  • Knowledge of anatomy and related pathological processes is essential.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with Radiologists and physicians to ensure proper imaging protocols.
  • Strong communication skills are critical for providing excellent patient care.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Work Experience:

  • Preferred: Minimum of one year of experience as a General Radiologic Technologist.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Must be capable of lifting or assisting with lifting patients of varying weights and handling equipment daily.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Adheres to standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
