As a Certified Radiologic Technologist, your primary responsibility will be to conduct radiographic examinations and fluoroscopic procedures for patients across all age groups. Ensuring patient safety is paramount in this role.
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- Registered Technologist credentials from The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists R.T.(R) (ARRT) in good standing.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conducts general radiology, portable, and fluoroscopic procedures (including GIs, GUs, pediatrics, and arthrograms).
- Produces high-quality images for accurate interpretation without delay.
- Maintains accurate documentation to ensure timely entry of all technical data.
- Reports equipment malfunctions to management and takes appropriate action.
- Educates patients about procedures and equipment to ensure understanding and cooperation.
- Ensures patient comfort and safety throughout the examination process.
- Assists in scheduling patient procedures and prioritizing patient flow.
- Demonstrates proper care and operation of radiology equipment in accordance with technical specifications.
- Assists Radiologists with various procedures.
- Handles image acquisition, archiving, transmission, and printing via PACS.
- Responsible for after-hours image transmission and related paperwork.
- Reports any malfunctions to the help desk and PACS Administrator promptly.
- Processes billing through RIS.
- Provides guidance and mentorship to new hires and Radiology students.
- Actively seeks to enhance technical knowledge and skills through ongoing education and professional development.
- May rotate through various diagnostic imaging modalities and locations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
Certifications Required:
- Must hold Registered Technologist credentials from The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists R.T.(R) (ARRT) in good standing.
- Current state licensure is required prior to employment.
- BLS certification is mandatory.
Complexity of Work:
- Understanding of anatomy and related pathological processes.
- Ability to effectively communicate with Radiologists and physicians for optimal patient imaging.
- Strong communication skills are essential for providing excellent patient care.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Work Experience:
- Preferred minimum of one year of experience as a General Radiologic Technologist.
Physical Requirements:
- Requires prolonged standing and walking.
- Must be capable of lifting or assisting with lifting patients of varying weights and handling equipment daily.
Personal Protective Equipment:
- Adheres to standard precautions and utilizes personal protective equipment as necessary.
