Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducts general radiology, portable, and fluoroscopic procedures (including GIs, GUs, pediatrics, and arthrograms).
  • Produces high-quality images for accurate interpretation without delay.
  • Maintains accurate documentation to ensure timely entry of all technical data.
  • Reports equipment malfunctions to management and takes appropriate action.
  • Educates patients about procedures and equipment to ensure understanding and cooperation.
  • Ensures patient comfort and safety throughout the examination process.
  • Assists in scheduling patient procedures and prioritizing patient flow.
  • Demonstrates proper care and operation of radiology equipment in accordance with technical specifications.
  • Assists Radiologists with various procedures.
  • Handles image acquisition, archiving, transmission, and printing via PACS.
  • Responsible for after-hours image transmission and related paperwork.
  • Reports any malfunctions to the help desk and PACS Administrator promptly.
  • Processes billing through RIS.
  • Provides guidance and mentorship to new hires and Radiology students.
  • Actively seeks to enhance technical knowledge and skills through ongoing education and professional development.
  • May rotate through various diagnostic imaging modalities and locations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.

Certifications Required:

  • Must hold Registered Technologist credentials from The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists R.T.(R) (ARRT) in good standing.
  • Current state licensure is required prior to employment.
  • BLS certification is mandatory.

Complexity of Work:

  • Understanding of anatomy and related pathological processes.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with Radiologists and physicians for optimal patient imaging.
  • Strong communication skills are essential for providing excellent patient care.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Work Experience:

  • Preferred minimum of one year of experience as a General Radiologic Technologist.

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires prolonged standing and walking.
  • Must be capable of lifting or assisting with lifting patients of varying weights and handling equipment daily.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Adheres to standard precautions and utilizes personal protective equipment as necessary.
