Job Summary

We are seeking an Arts Education Assistant Manager to support our activities in Staten Island schools. The ideal candidate will have a passion for arts education, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to effectively manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with school/community organizations to select and tailor programs that meet objectives
  • Rigorously follow up with schools and teaching artists regarding programming
  • Determine the best match between teaching artists and schools
  • Schedule teaching artists and school programs and maintain records
  • Attend in-school programs and handle evaluations
  • Assist in the implementation of current and developing arts curricula
  • Seek out new teaching artists and schools
  • Attend arts education workshops and meetings representing Sundog
  • Order and deliver supplies to schools as needed
Requirements
  • A passion for and belief in arts education
  • Superior organizational and management skills
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Confidence and assertiveness, with a willingness to take action
  • Strong interpersonal people skills, diplomacy, and integrity
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities, with a willingness to be open
  • Thoroughness in all areas, especially follow-up
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with NYC DOE is helpful
  • A sense of humor
  • Good with email, Google, and programs such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
