Job Overview

JAE Oregon, Inc. is a leading manufacturer of electrical components, and we are seeking a Procurement Specialist II to enhance our purchasing operations. This role is primarily responsible for the procurement and management of purchase orders related to non-stock items and packaging materials. The Procurement Specialist II will collaborate with Managers and Senior Buyers to maintain optimal inventory levels for all stock items.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Execute all responsibilities associated with the Procurement Specialist II position.

2. Oversee Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI), pricing strategies, inventory control, demand forecasting, and purchase orders for designated packaging suppliers.

3. Manage forecasting processes for assigned suppliers.

4. Participate in Quality Management System (QMS) audits.

5. Adhere to ISO/IATF/VDA standards and other company-supported initiatives, ensuring accurate documentation of production records.

6. Promote and engage in corporate values as outlined in the Employee Handbook and comply with the Management Systems Manual.

7. Complete required on-the-job and specialized training.

8. Maintain awareness of job-related environmental impacts.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

JOB SCOPE

This position provides direct support to department supervisors and contributes to overall production activities. The role encompasses a variety of responsibilities and requires frequent communication across multiple levels within the organization. The Procurement Specialist II will report directly to the Purchasing Manager.

BUDGETARY RESPONSIBILITY

This role supports the budgetary objectives of the Purchasing Department and does not have supervisory responsibilities.

INTERPERSONAL CONTACTS

Interactions may involve routine and non-routine discussions both internally and externally. Successful handling of these contacts is crucial, as they may involve confidential or sensitive matters. Approximately 40% of these interactions are face-to-face, while 60% occur via phone, primarily with non-customers.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

1. Proficient in using a personal computer.

2. Must be able to comprehend written and verbal communication in English.

3. Possess planning and analytical problem-solving skills.

4. Capable of managing multiple and diverse priorities.

5. Ability to effectively communicate and relate to Managers and Supervisors.

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Basic computer proficiency, including familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.

2. Intermediate understanding of Excel as per training standards.

3. Basic knowledge of SAP systems.

4. Fundamental understanding of core supply chain principles (APICS/ASCM).

COMPETENCIES

1. Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills, along with strong listening and comprehension abilities.

2. Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.

3. Accountability for actions and decisions.

4. Strong time management and prioritization skills.

5. Basic knowledge of ISO9001 / IATF16949 / ISO14001 / VDA 6.3 standards.

6. Understanding of systems and processes, including Inputs, Outputs, and Support Functions.

WORKING CONDITIONS

This position typically operates during standard business hours but may require overtime and weekend work as necessary.
