POSITION SUMMARY: The Senior Transportation Engineer is responsible for overseeing the execution of intricate projects that require collaboration among various disciplines and external consultants. This role serves as a key technical authority within the organization, ensuring that project designs are delivered effectively from initial concept to final completion. The Senior Transportation Engineer will also engage in marketing efforts and represent the company in client and public meetings.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Guarantee timely and budget-conscious project delivery while ensuring client satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Make critical design decisions and assess their implications across the entire project scope.
  • Support the Project Manager or take on project management responsibilities, assigning tasks to team members and monitoring their progress.
  • Lead and facilitate meetings with clients, the public, and consultants to ensure clear communication and project alignment.
  • Act as the main contact for clients in the absence of the Project Manager, addressing any project-related concerns.
  • Identify and resolve technical, scheduling, or financial challenges in collaboration with the Project Manager and clients.
  • Engage in the pursuit of large-scale projects, contributing to scope development, proposals, and client presentations.
  • Maintain project work plans to track design progress and ensure effective coordination among team members.
  • Ensure adherence to quality assurance processes and conduct checks on the work completed by engineering staff.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior staff, fostering their professional development.
  • Participate in relevant professional associations and present technical topics to enhance the company's reputation.
  • Authorize engineering documents as a certified representative of HR Green.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering is required.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) registration in relevant states is necessary or the ability to obtain it within six months of hire.
  • A minimum of eight years of engineering experience with a proven track record in project leadership.
  • Experience in managing complex projects and leading diverse technical teams is essential.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and design software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, or similar tools is required.
  • Prior experience in business development and project marketing is highly desirable.
  • Experience in innovative intersection design, including roundabouts, is preferred.
