Job Description
The Health Education Coordinator plays a crucial role in developing and implementing health education initiatives to improve the overall health and well-being of veterans. This involves collaborating with healthcare providers, veteran service organizations, and other stakeholders to deliver effective health education services.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, coordinate, and evaluate health education programs tailored to veterans.
  • Provide guidance on lifestyle management, chronic disease prevention, and health promotion.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate education into patient care plans.
  • Conduct needs assessments to identify gaps in health education services.
  • Deliver workshops, seminars, and training sessions for veterans and their families.
  • Create educational materials such as pamphlets, guides, and online content.
  • Monitor and report on program outcomes to ensure effectiveness.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Current, full, active, and unrestricted registration as a graduate professional nurse in a State, Territory or Commonwealth (i.e., Puerto Rico) of the United States, or the District of Columbia.
  • Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate accrediting agency and accredited by one of the following accrediting bodies at the time the program was completed by the applicant: The Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE); OR Individuals attending a master's level bridge program in nursing who have completed coursework equivalent to a bachelor's level degree in Nursing may have opportunity to become registered as a nurse with a state licensing board prior to completion of the bridge program.
