Position Overview

We are in search of committed, energetic, and highly professional individuals who have a genuine passion for assisting those with intellectual and physical disabilities in their journey to integrate into society. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in helping these individuals cultivate essential life skills and foster community connections.

The selected candidate will operate within the framework of our Community Living Support Team, primarily serving in various locations. Flexible scheduling options are available.

Key Responsibilities:

The Community Support Specialist will be tasked with the following duties:

  • Supporting individuals in developing life skills within their residences.
  • Providing daily living assistance and guidance.
  • Facilitating participation in community activities and home-based support.
  • Possessing a valid driver's license to transport individuals to appointments and outings.

Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Preferred one year of experience working with individuals with intellectual and/or physical disabilities in a residential environment, or demonstrable skills and abilities relevant to the responsibilities outlined.
  • Must successfully pass background checks, drug tests, and reference checks prior to employment.
  • Medication Technician Certification is required or must be obtained within the first 90 days of employment.
  • Completion of COVID-19 vaccination is mandatory.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to visually assess written correspondence and ensure accuracy and thoroughness of assigned tasks.
  • Capability to perform essential life functions such as talking, hearing, and engaging in repetitive motions, including computer use.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and write legibly.
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs or more.
  • Must be able to exert moderate physical effort, including standing, walking, occasional stooping, and bending as necessary.
