Clinical Laboratory Supervisor

As a Clinical Laboratory Supervisor, you will oversee the technical operations of the laboratory, ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures and quality assurance standards. This role requires strong leadership and technical expertise in histocompatibility testing.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise laboratory staff and ensure they possess the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
- Oversee the development and implementation of quality assurance programs to ensure accurate and reliable test results.
- Collaborate with laboratory leadership and clinicians to prioritize laboratory work and ensure efficient workflow management.
- Perform high-complexity tests, including HLA typing, antibody testing, and crossmatching donors and recipients.
- Monitor the availability and functionality of reagents and ensure that resources are adequately stocked and performing within laboratory standards.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field and/or equivalent experience/training.
- California Clinical Laboratory Scientist License and California Clinical Histocompatibility Scientist (CHS) license or equivalent.
- Lead/Supervisory/Manager experience and in-depth knowledge of the genetics of the Human Leukocyte Antigen (HLA) system.
- Skilled in performing complex and specialized testing procedures and maintaining current knowledge of laboratory concepts and new methodologies.
- Licensure in specialty area preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven track record of reliability and ability to multitask effectively, managing various responsibilities simultaneously without compromising quality.
