Engineering Director

At Automatic Pool Covers, Inc, we are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our manufacturing operations and drive product development.

• Oversee the product development process, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of high-quality products.
• Manage and qualify the supplier base to achieve the highest level of quality for incoming materials.
• Collaborate with the Impact Team to provide input, ideas, and direction for meeting short- and long-term strategic planning and implementation goals.
• Research, plan, negotiate, and approve capital equipment expenditures to optimize manufacturing efficiency.
• Manage and coordinate manufacturing software changes to ensure seamless integration.
• Oversee the implementation of lean manufacturing processes to improve productivity and reduce waste.
• Manage and coordinate contracted manufacturing and engineering resources to meet business needs.
• Oversee the product certification process to ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Communicate technical information to the Dealer Support Department on product implementations and product specifications.
• Authorize expenditures for materials needed for the manufacturing and engineering staff.
• Develop and implement quality control processes and policies to ensure customer satisfaction.

• Visit jobsites to review product performance and provide feedback.
• Review and approve design and manufacturing documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Provide technical support and guidance on engineering and manufacturing issues to ensure smooth operations.
• Oversee mechanical and electrical design to ensure innovative and efficient solutions.
• Develop and review departmental budgets to ensure effective resource allocation.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support business objectives.

• Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of five years' management experience in a manufacturing and engineering environment.
• Valid driver's license required.

• Proficiency using Microsoft Office.
• Solidworks experience.
• PDM and/or PLM knowledge.
• Ability to use engineering design and measurement tools.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Negotiation skills.
• Capability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
