Role Summary:

The selected candidate will assume a pivotal role in enhancing IDT's Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) capabilities. This position involves engaging in a variety of technical projects across diverse business domains, focusing on innovative solutions for Department of Defense (DoD) initiatives. The Senior Systems Engineering Specialist will collaborate with various teams and stakeholders to ensure the delivery of high-quality outputs that align with technical performance, quality standards, and budgetary constraints.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and mentor a team of MBSE professionals, offering technical direction and constructive feedback.
  • Establish and enforce best practices and standards for MBSE methodologies, tools, and processes.
  • Create and manage system models utilizing SysML, UML, or similar modeling languages.
  • Conduct system analysis, verification, validation, and optimization through model-based techniques.
  • Effectively communicate and present system models and findings to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Oversee and coordinate MBSE projects, ensuring timely and high-quality deliverables.
  • Identify and mitigate technical challenges and risks associated with MBSE initiatives.
  • Stay informed on the latest trends and advancements in MBSE and related fields.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related engineering discipline.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in MBSE and Systems Engineering, ideally within the aerospace, defense, or automotive sectors.

Essential Skills:
  • Proficient in SysML, UML, or other modeling languages.
  • Experienced with MBSE tools such as MagicDraw, Cameo, Enterprise Architect, Teamwork Cloud, Rhapsody, and DOORS.
  • Familiar with system architecture frameworks like DODAF or UAF.
  • Knowledgeable in system analysis, verification, validation, and optimization methodologies.
  • Ability to apply MBSE principles within broader Systems Engineering frameworks.
  • Capable of interfacing with clients in both technical and programmatic contexts.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Committed to innovation and continuous improvement.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with naval combat systems, such as the Aegis Combat System.
  • Familiarity with naval testing program processes.
  • Proficiency in programming languages including Java, C++, and Python.
