Survey Operations Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Survey Operations Manager to join our team at Granite Construction. This is a key leadership role that requires a strong background in surveying and construction operations.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and coordinate survey crews to ensure projects are surveyed correctly and in accordance with project contract requirements.
- Understand, advocate, participate in, and fully comply with Granite's and project-specific safety procedures and policies.
- Purchase, track, and maintain survey equipment and supplies to ensure profitable completion of projects.
- Verify and/or provide project control surveys and monuments.
- Provide field survey and layouts in an accurate and timely manner.
- Assist Quality Control as required to verify field layout and survey data.
- Obtain and record as-built survey data as required to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Determine, track, and calculate quantities required for progress billing applications and Forecasts.
- Provide technical assistance as required for machine control operations and grade checking personnel.
- Prepare, verify, and provide 3-D computer models for quantity, survey, and machine control applications.
- Provide training to project personnel in survey, machine control technology, and techniques.
- Interface with owner's representatives both informally and formally as appropriate.
- Training in 3D modeling, machine control systems, and GPS survey technology is desired.
- A Land Surveyor License is preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive construction experience in surveying on civil projects.
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the project's contract, specifications, schedule, and budget as it relates to survey.
- Extensive knowledge of surveying and heavy civil construction.
- Familiarity with GPS systems, machine control systems, and late-model survey equipment.
- Proficient in MicroStation, MS Excel, Terramodel, GPS, and 3D modeling software.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent collaboration, verbal, and written communication skills.

The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit, and use hands to operate a computer keyboard. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus. At times, will be working around large construction equipment, must be safety-conscious.

Granite offers a comprehensive benefits package, including paid holidays, sick leave, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance, flexible spending plans, as well as special programs for musculoskeletal health, mental wellness, and more. Salaried employees may choose from two PPO medical plans through Anthem BlueCross, including our most popular plan, for which 100% of the premium is paid by Granite for eligible employees and dependents. Employees can also opt into a Health Savings Account (HSA) or a Flexible Spending Account (FSA). Granite provides a 100% match on the first 6% of eligible compensation that salaried employees defer into their 401(k) plans, which vests immediately.
Base Salary Range$90,000 - $136,500.00. Pay may vary based upon relevant experience, skills, location, and education among other factors.
