Position Overview:
The Accounting Manager is an integral part of the Finance team, responsible for ensuring the seamless execution of daily accounting and financial operations. This role involves overseeing and evaluating the month-end closing process, while also recommending suitable policies and procedures to maintain a strong internal controls framework.

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee financial reporting, ensuring timely distribution of relevant financial statements and reports to appropriate stakeholders.
- Analyze complex account activities and propose solutions for operational simplification.
- Collaborate with various departments to provide essential financial insights that support decision-making.
- Lead the monthly closing process, ensuring quality and punctuality by:
- Completing and reviewing all reconciliations.
- Evaluating departmental expense classifications.
- Assisting with financial reporting as necessary.
- Conduct period-to-period fluctuation analysis against internal projections.
- Manage cash balances to ensure adequate funding for daily operations.

Internal Control Optimization:
- Develop and implement processes and procedures to enhance the internal control environment, including:
- Procurement guidelines
- Vendor management
- Treasury management
- Signatory authority
- Fixed assets management

- Evaluate existing systems to streamline processes and automate where possible.
- Manage the Contract Management platform, facilitating renewals and assessing the justification of contracts with external parties.
- Ensure compliance with Master Service Agreements across entities.

Tax Compliance Management:
- Oversee external tax accountants to guarantee compliance with state and federal tax regulations, including:
- Payroll tax
- Income tax
- Sales and use tax

Insurance Management:
- Monitor all organizational insurance policies, including but not limited to:
- Malpractice
- General liability
- Employment practices liability
- Directors and officers insurance

Qualifications:
- A minimum of 6 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA designation preferred.
- Strong understanding of US GAAP and healthcare accounting is advantageous.
- Proficient in analyzing large data sets and comfortable with Business Intelligence or Data Visualization tools.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and prioritization skills.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment, recommending and implementing process improvements autonomously while managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong work ethic and collaborative team player.
- Familiarity with Netsuite and G-Suite is preferred.

Work Environment:
This is a full-time remote position, requiring consistent access to a private workspace with high-speed internet, suitable for frequent video conferencing and conducive to remote work needs.
