Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate QPSA Counselor to join our team at SouthLight Healthcare. As a QPSA Counselor, you will play a critical role in providing substance use and mental health services to Work First Benefit applicants and recipients, as well as individuals convicted of Class H or I Controlled Substance Felonies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of mental health and substance use for Work First and Food and Nutrition Services consumers.
  • Refer clients for treatment when necessary and provide consultation and training to Work First staff on substance use recognition, screening, and referral procedures.
  • Develop and implement early intervention strategies in conjunction with Work First caseworkers.
  • Collect and monitor outcome data on the provision of consumer services and generate monthly reports.
  • Follow up with providers regarding client participation and compliance.
  • Participate in quarterly conference calls for the WF/FNS/CPS Substance Use Initiative.
  • Serve as liaison with other programs and agencies in the coordination of consumer care or connection with community resources.
  • Provide monthly psychoeducation groups to WF consumers participating in the Jobs & Community Workforce Solutions activities.
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in a Human Services field and meets the requirements specified for QP status.
  • Currently licensed to practice clinically (LCAS, LMFT, LCMHC, LCSW - LCAS preferred) or will become fully licensed within 2 years of hire.
