Senior Civil Engineer (8+ years)
Our firm is in search of a Senior Civil Engineer with a minimum of eight years of expertise in the design and implementation of site development, grading, drainage systems, utility infrastructure, roadway design, and erosion control strategies. Qualifications
  • Proven experience in supervising and leading an internal project team to create Construction Documents for site development projects.
  • Ability to work independently on complex technical assignments.
  • A positive contributor to the overall goals, culture, and morale of the office and department.
  • Capable of managing and participating in multiple projects simultaneously and profitably.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with clients, regulators, contractors, and other stakeholders to discuss project work.
  • Experience in coordinating designs and drawings with external consultants, including Architects, Owners, and Engineers.
  • Strong organizational, technical, and communication skills.
  • Commitment to completing tasks efficiently within set schedule constraints.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineering staff.
  • Execute work in accordance with established budgets and schedules with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Skilled in Hydro CAD, Storm CAD, and SWWM (or similar) stormwater modeling software.
  • Familiarity with Windows, MS Office, and Google Apps.
Responsibilities
  • Deliver consulting services for both internal and external clients utilizing Civil/Site Engineering technical skills, including site grading analysis, earthwork calculations, drainage design, utility layout, and erosion control design.
  • Lead a project team of junior and experienced engineers to fulfill project design deliverables.
  • Oversee the development of preliminary to final design calculations and drawings.
  • Conduct site due diligence and entitlement investigations and prepare reports.
  • Review field data and perform inspections of existing stormwater facilities.
  • Engage in technical writing for design reports and permitting applications.
  • Utilize AutoCAD and various Civil Engineering design software applications.
Education/Experience/Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering from an ABET/EAC accredited program is required.
  • 8+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Expertise in Site Grading, Earthwork Calculations, Road Design, Drainage (Calculations & Reports), Utility Layout & Sizing, Technical Report Writing, and cost estimation.
  • Experience with Construction Documentation for State, Federal, and Private (Commercial, Institutional, and Residential) projects.
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) is mandatory.
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance from the U.S. Government is required.
