Senior Civil Engineering Specialist (8+ years)
Our firm is in search of a Senior Civil Engineering Specialist with a minimum of eight years of expertise in the design of site layouts, grading, drainage systems, utility infrastructure, roadways, and erosion control strategies. Qualifications
  • Proven experience in supervising and leading internal project teams in the creation of Construction Documents for site development.
  • Ability to work independently on complex technical projects.
  • Positive contributor to overall office and departmental objectives, culture, and morale.
  • Capable of managing and participating in multiple projects simultaneously and profitably.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, regulators, contractors, and other stakeholders at their offices or project sites to discuss project details.
  • Experience in coordinating drawings and designs with external consultants, including Architects, Owners, and Engineers.
  • Strong organizational, technical, and communication skills.
  • Commitment to working efficiently to meet deadlines.
  • Provide mentorship to junior engineering staff.
  • Execute work in accordance with agreed budgets and schedules with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Proficient in Hydro CAD, Storm CAD, and SWWM (or similar) stormwater modeling software.
  • Familiarity with Windows, MS Office, and Google Apps.
Responsibilities
  • Deliver consulting services for both internal and external clients utilizing Civil/Site Engineering technical expertise, including but not limited to site grading analysis and earthwork calculations; drainage design, calculations, and reports; utility layout and sizing; erosion and sediment control design and calculations; developing project specifications; ensuring compliance with current applicable federal, state, and local regulations; as well as general civil engineering principles.
  • Lead a project team of junior and experienced engineers to achieve project design deliverables.
  • Oversee the development of preliminary to final design calculations and drawings.
  • Conduct site due diligence and entitlement investigations and reporting.
  • Review field data and perform inspections of existing stormwater facilities.
  • Engage in technical writing for design reports and permitting applications.
  • Utilize AutoCAD and a variety of Civil Engineering design software applications.
Education/Experience/Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering from an ABET/EAC accredited program required.
  • 8+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Experience with Site Grading, Earthwork Calculations, Road Design, Drainage (Calculations & Reports), Utility Layout & Sizing, Technical Report Writing, and preparation of Technical Specifications, along with cost estimating.
  • Construction Documentation experience on State, Federal, and Private (Commercial, Institutional, and Residential) projects.
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) is required.
  • Must be eligible to obtain a security clearance from the U.S. Government.
