**Job Summary**

Preferred Materials - Asphalt Division, a leading provider of high-quality hot mix and warm mix asphalt, is seeking a highly skilled Asphalt Screed Operator to join their team. As a key member of the construction crew, the successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining the asphalt paving machine, ensuring efficient and safe production of high-quality asphalt surfaces.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Operate the asphalt paving machine safely and efficiently, controlling material flow and depth distribution.
  • Thoroughly understand all aspects of the paving industry, including preparatory work, grades, drainage, paving patterns, aggregate size, job specifications, oil consistencies, compaction, and other details related to asphalt paving.
  • Perform minor servicing and maintenance on the equipment, referring major problems to the supervisor.
  • Work collaboratively with the construction team to ensure timely completion of projects.

**Requirements:**

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • One to two years of related asphalt and road construction experience.
