Cargo Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Cargo Manager. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient handling of cargo and warehouse operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Enforce safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for employees.
  • Direct and coordinate activities to provide a safe and efficient service.
  • Manage and maintain accurate records and reports, including safety meeting minutes and operational reports.
  • Investigate and report on incidents, including aircraft damage and employee injuries.
  • Develop and implement safety programs and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies.
  • Coordinate with customers and other stakeholders to determine manpower requirements and ensure compliance with standards and procedures.
  • Oversee the recruitment and placement of employees to ensure staffing levels meet requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies, including the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and United States Customs.
Requirements:
  • Strong understanding of airline cargo operations and regulatory requirements.
  • 4-year college degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • Must have a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience, and a high degree of attention to detail.
  • Ability to read, fluently speak, and understand the English language.
  • Must possess good communication skills and a friendly, outgoing personality in person and via telephone.
  • Must be free of disqualifying crimes and able to pass a pre-employment drug test.
  • Must have reliable transportation and be able to work weekends, holidays, and days off.
  • 25% travel.
