About the Role

The Director of Economic Advancement and Partnership Development will play a crucial part in bridging internal collaboration with external impact within the nonprofit landscape. In close partnership with the Director of Community Impact Innovation, you will provide flexible support to advance various economic mobility team initiatives.

This position champions collaborative leadership and project management, identifying challenges and driving process improvements while lending support and coaching to team members.

Responsibilities
  • Align economic mobility initiatives with broader organizational strategies
  • Manage direct report team members and cross-functional teams effectively
  • Engage in pivotal programs such as the Detroit Financial Well-being Innovation Challenge and the Detroit Tax Credit Coalition
  • Oversee grantmaking relationships, enhance program evolution, and support fundraising initiatives
Requirements

To thrive in this role, candidates must possess a blend of educational credentials and practical experience.

A bachelor's degree in social sciences, social work, public policy, nonprofit management, or a related field is essential, with a master's degree preferred.

The ideal candidate will have 5-8 years of experience managing complex projects or programs within a social sector setting, showcasing expertise in designing and implementing new initiatives or continuous program improvement.

A deep understanding of low-income and structurally disadvantaged populations is necessary, along with subject matter expertise in promoting economic mobility through initiatives such as financial empowerment, volunteer income tax assistance (VITA), and workforce development.

This role requires adaptability, strategic planning, and a commitment to collaboration to drive impactful change in the community.

What We Offer

This is a full-time position that is grant funded for 13 months; the expectation is that the position will continue to be funded afterwards.

We offer a competitive salary ranging from $80,000 to $85,000 per year, along with great benefits including Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), Life Insurance, Health Savings Account, Flexible Spending Account, Paid Time Off, 12 paid holidays, Organization paid STD/LTD, Organization paid Life Insurance, Pet Insurance, Free Tele-Health program, and EAP.
