Position Overview

Job Title: After School Program Coordinator

Role Summary:

The After School Program Coordinator is tasked with overseeing and nurturing students enrolled in the Extended Day Program (EDP) at the University of Tulsa. This role is pivotal in ensuring a safe and engaging environment for students during after-school hours.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and support students throughout EDP hours, prioritizing their safety and well-being.
  • Lead the Early Option, Study Hall, and Enrichment sessions in alignment with EDP standards.
  • Guide students to and from designated EDP locations while accurately tracking attendance.
  • Maintain effective communication with EDP staff to stay informed about student movements.
  • Assist students during Study Hall to encourage homework completion and promote quiet reading.
  • Organize and facilitate active play and enrichment activities during recess periods.
  • Ensure timely pick-up of all students and manage late arrivals in accordance with EDP protocols.
  • Adhere to all established procedures, guidelines, and regulations concerning employee conduct and student records, including confidentiality and document management.
  • Deliver exceptional service through courteous and professional interactions.
  • Collaborate with university administrators to ensure comprehensive care for students.
  • Perform additional duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications:

Required:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to attentively supervise children and respond to their needs.
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with children, parents, and staff.
  • Conflict resolution abilities to address and resolve student issues.
  • Knowledge of educational and recreational activities suitable for children.
  • Understanding of developmentally appropriate child behaviors.
  • General awareness of safety protocols and emergency procedures in a primary school context.
  • Capability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Preferred:
  • Prior experience in a primary school or childcare setting is preferred.
