Job Title: Quality Control Inspector

At Taylor Forge Engineered Systems, Inc., we are seeking a highly skilled Quality Control Inspector to join our team. As a Quality Control Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of our fabricated products, which are used in the energy, chemical, and aerospace industries.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform dimensional and nondestructive examination (NDE) inspections on assigned projects to ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards.
  • Work closely with the Quality Control Manager and Quality Control Coordinator to coordinate and resolve project-specific technical matters.
  • Ensure a safe working environment is maintained at all times.
  • Learn and remain current with all code rules and requirements.
  • Perform UT, MT, PT, VT, and PMI inspections as required.
  • Respond to shop questions and/or non-conformances.
  • Interface with customers to ensure technical requirements are met.
  • Create, distribute, and revise Quality Plans and Inspection/Test Plans.
  • Calibrate measuring/testing equipment.
  • Perform small repairs, cleaning, and preventative maintenance on inspection equipment.
  • Report abnormal conditions of NDE equipment to the Quality Control Manager.
  • Be involved in the development and revision of NDE procedures.
  • Participate in general process improvements and initiatives.
Qualifications:
  • Associates degree in Nondestructive Examination or a related field or two or more years of related NDE experience required.
  • Must be qualified or be capable of qualifying to SNT-TC-1A Level II in UT, MT, PT, and, VT.
  • Must pass Jaeger 1 eye examination.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Good multi-tasking capabilities.
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel).
  • Good interpersonal communication skills.
  • Good judgment and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently with very little direct supervision.
  • Effective troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to concentrate in a diverse work setting.
  • Valid driver's license and proof of insurability.
