The Caleb Brett division offers cargo inspection and analytical evaluation services to the petroleum, mining, minerals, and biofuels sectors.

The Petroleum Quality Inspector is tasked with conducting measurement testing and sampling of petroleum products according to client specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

Comprehend and comply with Caleb Brett safety protocols.
Capable of executing the following duties as per specified methodologies, along with completing the requisite documentation.

Volume measurement, temperature measurement, and sampling of materials contained or transported in lines, shore tanks, cars, tank trucks, barges, and ships.

Conduct visual inspections on lines, pumps, manifolds, shore tanks, rail cars, tank trucks, barges, and ships.
Execute custody transfer surveys of commodities moved to and from rail cars, tank trucks, shore tanks, barges, and ships.
Perform routine equipment calibrations, verifications, and functionality checks.
Confirm and communicate the results obtained and record them in the appropriate media.
Provide on-the-job support and receive training from more experienced inspectors.
Coordinate with terminal, transport, and company personnel to facilitate the smooth execution of assigned duties.

Monitor the availability of necessary supplies for the aforementioned processes and communicate any needs to the Dispatcher or Coordinator.

Organize and coordinate tasks to ensure timely service delivery, report generation, and sample submission.

Maintain work areas, records, and equipment in a clean, organized, and functional state.
Verify and communicate results and ensure proper documentation for validity and traceability.


Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities

Minimum Requirements:

Basic understanding of mathematics and proficiency in an automated environment.
Ability to work on an on-call basis.
No fear of heights.
Capability to climb ladders and stairs for shore tanks.
*Valid driver's license and reliable driving record (required).
Must possess or be able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) within 30 days of hire.

Adhere to safety practices and policies to ensure personal safety and the safety of others in the workplace.

Willingness to travel as business needs arise.

Physical Requirements:
Lifting, walking, standing, reaching, bending, stooping, climbing, squatting, and driving.

Preferred Qualifications:


Experience in volume measurement, temperature measurement, and sampling of materials contained or transported in lines, shore tanks, cars, tank trucks, barges, and ships.

Familiarity with visual inspections on lines, pumps, manifolds, shore tanks, rail cars, tank trucks, barges, and ships.

Experience conducting custody transfer surveys of commodities moved to and from rail cars, tank trucks, shore tanks, barges, and ships.

Proficiency in routine equipment calibrations, verifications, and functionality checks.
Model Intertek's 10X Energies consistently within the workplace, practicing ethical business conduct.
IFIA certification is advantageous.
Prior experience in the petroleum or shipping industry is preferred.
Experience with a petroleum inspection company is a plus.

Shift/Schedule:
Varying shifts, including on-call, evening, weekend, and holiday hours.

Compensation & Benefits

The base wage or salary range for this position is $22.00 to $30.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Individual compensation packages are tailored based on various factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related criteria.


$2,000.00 sign-on bonus for eligible candidates.
Clear career progression opportunities with potential for higher pay.
$2 per hour pay increase after 6 months upon successfully passing the TIC inspectors Exam (TIC Council).
40 hours guaranteed with 1.5 pay rate after 40 hours.
