The Certification Compliance Coordinator will oversee and manage the daily functions related to program certifications for a designated portfolio of properties. This role is essential in ensuring adherence to various housing program regulations, including Low-Income Tax Credit, HUD, and Rural Development standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain compliance by processing annual, interim, and unit transfer tenant income certifications across multiple affordable housing programs.
  • Ensure strict adherence to all relevant policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Update rent and subsidy information to guarantee accurate billing.
  • Prepare and distribute annual recertification notices in accordance with property-specific requirements.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by working collaboratively with residents and staff.
  • Foster positive relationships with residents, communities, and compliance agencies.
  • Safeguard resident confidentiality at all times.
  • Conduct weekly reviews of housing software dashboards to monitor workflow and address any deficiencies.
  • Maintain consistent physical presence at the assigned work location during scheduled hours.

Qualifications:

  • Certification as an Occupancy Specialist is required.
  • At least 2 years of experience in affordable housing property management is preferred.
  • Familiarity with HUD Section 8, Low-Income Tax Credit, and Rural Development regulations is advantageous.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite; experience with Yardi Voyager or similar property management software is preferred.
  • Strong data entry skills and attention to detail are essential.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel locally and regionally for meetings and training as needed.
