Join Our Team of AI Researchers

At Capital One, we're pushing the boundaries of artificial intelligence to revolutionize the banking industry. As an Applied Researcher I, you'll be part of our AI Foundations team, working on cutting-edge projects that transform customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop AI-powered products that enhance customer interactions.
  • Leverage a broad range of technologies, including PyTorch, AWS Ultraclusters, and HuggingFace, to uncover insights from vast amounts of data.
  • Design, train, evaluate, and implement AI foundation models to drive business growth.
  • Engage in high-impact applied research to integrate the latest AI advancements into customer-facing experiences.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts to stakeholders, ensuring seamless translation into business objectives.
Requirements:
  • PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field, or a Master's degree with at least 2 years of experience in applied research.
  • Experience with large deep learning models, including training optimization, self-supervised learning, robustness, explainability, and RLHF.
  • Strong understanding of AI methodologies and a proven track record of delivering models at scale.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
What We Offer:
  • A competitive salary range of $230,000 - $262,500, depending on location.
  • Performance-based incentive compensation, including cash bonuses and long-term incentives.
