Transformative AI Researcher

Capital One is revolutionizing banking with trustworthy and reliable AI systems. As an Applied Researcher II, you will play a crucial role in developing cutting-edge AI capabilities that reimagine customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver AI-powered products that transform customer interactions.
  • Leverage a broad stack of technologies to uncover insights from large datasets.
  • Design, train, and implement AI foundation models through all phases of development.
  • Engage in high-impact applied research to push the boundaries of AI developments.
  • Communicate complex research findings to stakeholders and translate them into tangible business goals.
Requirements:
  • PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or related field, or M.S. with 4+ years of experience in Applied Research.
  • Experience with large-scale deep learning models, training optimization, and model compression.
  • Strong understanding of AI methodologies and ability to design and implement AI solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Publications in top-tier AI conferences, such as NeurIPS, ICML, or ICLR.
  • Experience with large-scale graph models, recommender systems, or production real-time environments.
  • Contributions to open-source frameworks, such as PyTorch-Geometric or DGL.
What We Offer:
  • Competitive salary range: $276,000 - $315,000 (New York City) or $292,400 - $333,700 (San Francisco and San Jose).
  • Performance-based incentive compensation.
