MRC Global is a leading global distributor of pipe, valves and fittings (PVF) and related products and services to the energy industry.

Job Purpose:

The Sales & Service Representative will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service and support to MRC Global's customers, while also driving sales growth and branch operations efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to customer inquiries and develop new business opportunities through effective communication and relationship-building.
  • Analyze customer needs and provide tailored solutions to meet their requirements.
  • Maximize sales growth by identifying and capitalizing on new business opportunities.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless execution of customer transactions and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Provide product information, pricing, and delivery specifications to customers, and offer substitute products where applicable.
  • Assist in processing priority transactions and work with customers to resolve any discrepancies or issues.
  • Enter and maintain accurate customer information, including purchase orders and customer profiles.
  • Work with internal departments to ensure accurate and up-to-date customer files.
  • Maintain and improve quality standards to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with customers, communicating effectively to provide technical information and make value-added recommendations.
  • Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance personal and product knowledge.
  • Monitor and expedite shipments to ensure timely delivery.
  • Respond promptly to internal and external customer inquiries, vendor and branch inquiries about material and sales functions.
  • Perform other duties as required to support the branch operations and customer service goals.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, with additional post-secondary training or education.
  • At least two years of experience in customer service, inside sales, and/or warehouse services, with increasing responsibility and demonstrated leadership/supervisory experience.
  • Demonstrated competence in computer software applications and ability to communicate complex information to others.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group settings.
  • Willingness and ability to be on call for 24-hour customer service and travel within and outside the branch service area, with occasional overnight stays.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet MRC Global's vehicle policy requirements.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Ability to provide documentation verifying legal work status.
  • Ability to read and speak English proficiently to communicate with others, understand safety instructions, and respond to inquiries.
  • Ability to understand and comply with MRC Global's guidelines and expectations, including Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest guidelines.
