Mobile Technician II



Job Summary:
Penske is seeking a skilled Mobile Technician II to join our team. As a Mobile Technician II, you will be responsible for the repair and diagnosis of major components, as well as performing preventive maintenance services. This is a great opportunity to work with a leading transportation provider and develop your skills in a fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues with diesel engines, transmissions, and other heavy-duty equipment
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes and tire rotations
  • Inspect and repair brake systems, steering mechanisms, and other critical components
  • Use advanced diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and repair issues
  • Work independently and as part of a team to complete repairs and meet deadlines
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols and regulations
  • Collaborate with other technicians and supervisors to resolve complex issues and improve processes


Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of experience in heavy-duty truck repair and maintenance
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational or technical training preferred
  • CDL license with air brake certification required; willingness to acquire CDL if not already held
  • DOT medical card and/or ability to obtain prior to commencing work
  • Ability to read a map and operate a 26,000 non-articulated vehicle safely and professionally
  • Basic computer skills required for data entry into maintenance systems
  • Ability to work in non-climate controlled conditions

  • While performing the duties of this job, the associate will be required to move frequently, stand, walk, climb, bend, and sit for extended length of time throughout their scheduled working period.
  • The associate is required to use their hands on a routine and daily basis to grasp, reach, touch, handle, feel, and/or otherwise operate required tools or controls.
  • The associate must be able to work safely at heights using applicable ladders and elevated working platforms.
  • The associate must be able to safely work in all weather conditions.
  • Given the frequent movement of large trucks through the workplace, the associate must be able to see and hear in order to safely navigate the work environment.
  • The associate must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50lbs/23kg and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100lbs/45kg.

Salary: $33.79/hourly plus 10% mobile pay

Hours: Mon - Fri 2nd shift

Shift Differentials:

  • Second shift start times after 11am are eligible for $1.50 per hour shift differential
  • Third shift start time after 9pm are eligible for $2.00 per hour shift differential
