Job Title: Quality Assurance Specialist

At Sarinas Consulting, we are seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team. As a Quality Assurance Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety in our food manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and ensure compliance with food safety regulations and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
  • Train facility personnel on GMPs, Risk Preventive Controls, and other essential elements of the food safety system.
  • Collect and analyze product samples, documenting all findings accurately.
  • Maintain organized records of analytical results and promptly report any out-of-specification results to the QA supervisor.
  • Provide documented reports of analytical results and track data trends.
  • Inspect incoming raw materials and assist in investigating non-conformities and product complaints.
  • Serve as the primary host for regulatory and customer visits, including third-party audits.
  • Ensure compliance with company HACCP/HARPC programs.
  • Inform Quality Assurance Management of any food safety concerns and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Assist local and corporate management with updates to the food safety system, including creating, reviewing, and maintaining standard operating procedures (SOPs) and documentation.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Preferred experience in administrative tasks, including paperwork reconciliation.
  • Prior quality assurance experience is a plus, especially in food manufacturing.
  • Understanding of applicable FDA regulations and GMPs preferred.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective multitasking and organizational skills.
  • Ability to perform basic mental math.
  • Team-oriented with strong communication skills in English.
  • Ability to balance productivity, quality, and safety in a fast-paced environment.

Working Conditions:

This role involves primarily standing, with some repetitive bending. The ability to lift 10-35 lbs. frequently and up to 45 lbs. occasionally is required. Additionally, candidates must be able to push or pull up to 250 lbs. on rollers occasionally. The position operates in a wet and cold/refrigerated environment (approximately 35F), so the ability to withstand cold temperatures for the duration of the shift is necessary.
