Per Diem Hospital Unit Service Coordinator Obstetrics Acute Night Shift

The Unit Secretary plays a vital role in maintaining the smooth operation of the department. This position serves as a central point of communication in the nursing station, ensuring seamless coordination of patient care. Key responsibilities include assisting patients upon arrival, managing phone calls, maintaining and organizing patient records, and collaborating with other departments to provide comprehensive care services. The successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be familiar with regulatory standards and UCI Health-Fountain Valley policies, and demonstrate a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities- Assist patients upon arrival and provide support throughout their stay
- Manage phone calls and respond to inquiries in a timely and professional manner
- Maintain and organize patient records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality
- Collaborate with other departments to coordinate care services and ensure seamless patient flow
- Manage office and medical supplies, maintaining a well-stocked and organized environment
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Recent acute care experience a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
